Why Northampton Homeowners Are Choosing MG Window Systems

Are your windows secretly inflating your energy bills? Learn the signs your windows are costing you money, how heat loss happens, and how MG Windows can help you save.

There’s no shortage of window companies out there. National chains, online-only suppliers, one-man bands — the choice can feel overwhelming, and so can the task of working out who you can actually trust.

MG Window Systems isn’t the flashiest operation in Northampton. We don’t have celebrity endorsements or national advertising campaigns. What we do have is 30+ years of installations across the local area, a team of fitters that many of our customers have met before, and a reputation built entirely on word of mouth and repeat business.

Here’s why that matters — and what it means for you.

We’ve Been Here Since 1992 — and We’re Not Going Anywhere

MG Window Systems was founded in Northampton in 1992 by Mitch Brown and Gary Frost, operating out of Rothersthorpe Avenue Industrial Estate — the same building we still operate from today. Gary retired in 2018, and Mark Russell — who joined in 2009 — now runs the business alongside his wife Emma.

Some of our fitters have been with us since the mid-1990s. Others longer. That kind of continuity matters in a trade where the temptation to cut corners is always present — when people have built their livelihoods around the MG name, the standards don’t slip.

It also means that when you call us in five years’ time with a question about your windows, someone will answer who knows your property and your installation. That’s something a national call centre simply cannot offer.

Which? Trusted Trader: What It Actually Means

MG Window Systems is a Which? Trusted Trader — and this isn’t something that comes easily. To earn this accreditation, we went through a rigorous vetting process covering our business practices, customer service standards, complaint handling procedures and installation quality. We’re independently assessed, not self-certified.

FENSA Registered: Your Installation, Certified

Every window and door installation we carry out is registered with FENSA — the government-authorised scheme that confirms work meets current UK Building Regulations. You receive a FENSA certificate with your installation, and you’ll need this when you come to sell your home. It’s not optional, and it’s not something to leave to chance.

We’re also members of the Independent Network (Veka’s approved installer scheme) and Buy With Confidence — an additional Trading Standards-backed approval that gives you further reassurance before you commit to anything.

A 10-Year Insurance-Backed Guarantee — and What That Really Means

Every installation comes with a 10-year insurance-backed guarantee. We’re proud to offer this, but we also think it’s worth being clear about what ‘insurance-backed’ actually means.

A standard guarantee is only as good as the company behind it. An insurance-backed guarantee means your protection is held by an independent insurer — so even in the unlikely event that something were to change, your investment is still protected. It’s the difference between a promise and a policy.

What Our Customers Say

One customer put it simply: ‘We have used M.G. Window Systems a number of times over many years. They were courteous and competent at all times and we have no hesitation in recommending them.’ That kind of repeat trust is what keeps us going.
